Mechanical Technician
Job Description:
Maintain mechanical infrastructure equipment to ensure safe and continuous operation. Ensure properly trained and licensed personnel and vendors address the range of services work with all actions taken being in compliance with all local, state and national codes and regulations.
Essential Job Duties:                     
    1.                      Ensure 24/7 emergency response support is provided.
    2.                      Responsible for scheduling and performing preventive maintenance, making repairs and insuring efficient operation of all mechanical building systems.
    3.                      Maintain mechanical/electrical operating systems including emergency back-up equipment to ensure proper and continuous operation. 
    4.                      Responds to service requests within service level response goals. Perform critical and non critical work orders and actively participate in the predictive maintenance program. Maintains necessary work records including equipment records, logs, and time sheets.
    5.                      Maintain emergency back-up equipment to ensure proper operation. Ensure no controllable interruptions impact operations where emergency back-up is in place.
    6.                      Provide required mechanical inspections of labs/UPS/PBX/H VAC systems.
    7.                      Ensures that all work meets prescribed standards of quality and insures compliance with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes.
    8.                      Recommend opportunities to reduce and contain energy costs.
    9.                      Brief fellow worker on outstanding systems issues at shift change.
Other Job Functions:
May assist in the bid process for new equipment or vendor services.

Job Requirements : Skills, Education And Experience:
  • Technical or Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years previous mechanical work experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
  • Some knowledge of computers preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • License as required by state.
  • May perform other duties as assigned
